Swan In A Million Third in $600,000 Breeders Crown
October 9 - Swan In A Million (Andover Hall - Swan Lake) survived a tough trip from post 8 to finish a solid third in the $600,000 Breeders Crown tonight at Pocono. Driver David Miller eased Swan In A Million out of his wide gate post, and sat seventh at the 1/4 pole. Remaining in this position past the half, Swan In A Million started a steady forward move through traffic and breakers, and was fourth parked out by three by the 3/4 pole. He then came home in 28.4 to finish a good third by 3 lengths, timed in 1:54 in Manofmanymissions' World Record 1:53.2 win. His seasonal earnings now stand at $98,250.
Swan In A Million Now Three For Three in 2010
September 17 - Swan In A Million (Andover Hall - Swan Lake) once again found himself in the Winners Circle in the $10,000 (leg) Kindergarten Series tonight at Vernon. Driver Andy Miller found a different way to school the promising colt. Starting from Post 1, Swan In A Million was content to allow the outside horses to fire at the gate, and soon found himself fourth at the quarter pole in 28.4. When the leaders slowed the pace to a crawl, Swan In A Million quickly took over the lead in a 1:00 half. After a 1:29.1 pace at the 3/4 pole, Swan In A Million accelerated a bit to establish a four length lead early in the stretch, and then simply jogged home unchallenged to win by four in 1:57.4. Swan In A Million is now a perfect 3 for 3 with earnings of $15,000, and will be looking forward to competing in the lucrative Kindergarten Final.
Swan In A Million Romps In Kindergarten Series at Vernon
September 10 - School's out, and Swan In A Million graduated at the head of his class tonight at Vernon Downs in the Kindergarten Series. Sent off from Post 4 at 1-4 by the bettors, Swan In A Million quickly assumed command by the first turn for driver Andy Miller. Swan In A Million led the entire race through fractions of 28.1, 57.4, and 1:27.3. In the last turn, Miller spoke to the colt who quickly extended his lead to 4 lengths by the top of the stretch. The stretch was an in-hand jog, with Swan In A Million winning by 5 lengths in 1:57. Swan In A Million is now 2 for 2 in his short racing career for trainer Erv Miller.
Baximum Demolishes Field in $50,000 PASS Championship Consolation
September 4 - Baximum (Cantab Hall - Bax Machine) found the $50,000 PASS Championship Consolation to be an easy payday at The Meadows, totally dominating the field in a 1:55.2f mile. Starting from Post 6, Baximum quickly assumed command in a 27.3 first quarter. From there, the race was over as he lead the field by 4 lengths at the top of the stretch, and pulled away to finish a 6 length victor for driver Dave Palone. The race was a full second faster than the $200,000 PASS Championship Final won by Pilgrim's Chuckie today in 1:56.2f.
Windsong Stable Stars at the PA Fairs
August 31 - With all our attention focused upon the exploits of the horses that race in pari-mutuel Stakes races, we sometimes forget to mention the accomplishments of our horses that work in their blue collar jobs in smaller, less publicized places. Windsong Stable is proud of its strong representation in the 2010 Pennsylvania's Fair Sire Stakes program. Currently, Windsong is the #9 money winning breeder at the PA Fairs. Cummingsandgoings (S Js Caviar - Poetry) carries the flag for Windsong Stable in the 3 year old trotting filly division, going 8 - 6 - 1 - 1 with earnings of $11,475 for Randy and Clifford Neal.. 2 year old trotting colt Six Pack Abs (S Js Caviar - Samantha Yorktowne) is 3 - 2 - 0 - 1 with earnings of $4,522 for owners Benedetti, Stiletto, and Syl King. 3 year old trotting colt Powerlifter, a full brother to Six Pack Abs, is 5 - 1 - 3 - 0 with earnings of $6,190 for Bruce Schadel. F Stop (S Js Photo - Models Image) has been a steady earner of $3,359 for Todd and Christine Schadel. Horses like these race honorably for their owners, who keep the grand rural traditions of harness racing alive and well on the Fair circuit.
Swan In A Million Sets PA Stallion Series Stakes Record In First Start
August 25 - Swan In A Million (Andover Hall - Swan Lake) took his first step to fulfill the expectations of his $137,000 yearling price tonight by winning his division of the 2YO PA Stallion Series at The Meadows in his first pari-mutuel start. After winning two qualifiers, Swan In A Million made his debut tonight from Post 6 for driver Mike Wilder and trainer Erv Miller. Wilder stated after the race that his instructions were simply to school the horse conservatively, as if this were a baby race. Accordingly, Swan In A Million got away a safe fifth, but found himself last in the remaining pack at the 3/4 pole after one horse made a break earlier in the race. Moving up to fourth by five lengths at the top of the stretch, Swan In A Million flew home in a huge final quarter to win in 1:57.3f. His time was the fastest of the evening for the Stallion Series, setting a PA Stallion Stakes record. As the official final quarter was timed in 28.1 seconds, Swan In A Million's final quarter was in the blistering 27 - 27.1 second range. His backers received a surprising $15.00 for the win. Owned by Diamond Creek Farm, Mystical Marker Farm, John Carver, and Mary Jane Anderson, Swan In A Million will be raced lightly this year, according to trainer Erv Miller. A more extensive summary of the race can be found on The Harness Edge.

Currier & Ives A Showcase For Windsong Stable
June 5 - Baximum (Cantab Hall - Bax Machine) and Ruffles (Andover Hall - Polyester Hanover) both gave fine efforts in the Currier & Ives stakes this week at the Meadows.
Ruffles finished second in her $40,000 division of the Currier & Ives for driver Marcus Johansson, trainer Jim Takter, and owner Brixton Medical Ab (SE), timed in 1:56.2f. Ruffles started in Post 3, and quickly established herself in second position, which she held throughout the race. The race was the fastest of all Currier & Ives divisions, and was won handily by by Jessie's Messenger in 1:55. However, Ruffles trotted strongly throughout, with her last quarter in 28.3. Coming after a third place finish in a conditioned event at the Meadowlands where she was timed in 1:56.4, Ruffles has shown signs of a productive three year old campaign ahead.
