Ilia Dominates In NJSS-GA Legs at Freehold

September 22 - Ilia (Windsong's Legacy - Tasha Yar) has established herself as the dominant filly in the first two legs of the NJSS - Green Acres at Freehold. On September 15, Ilia quickly took command and was never headed in a three length victory in 1:59.1h for driver Jeff Gregory. Today, Ilia gave a similar performance towin in 2:00 for Jack Baggitt Jr. She was the overwhelming odds-on favorite in both races. Ilia now has 3 wins and 1 second in 7 starts this year, with a 1:56 record and earnings of $28,750. She had recently finished second in the $65,000 Helen Smith Trot after a long layoff. She is a half sister to Morguns Sweetheart 4, 1:53.2 ($300,794), exported by Swedish TP Stable. She is in foal to Muscle Hill this year. Her owners also own World Champion Giant Diablo, and the Windsong-bred Just Dandy 3, 1:56.4 ($145,137) in foal to Muscle Hill. Iila is also a sister to Valeris 3, 1;55.3 ($98,607) who also was exported to Sweden. Valeris had a foal by Muscle Hill this year. We'll look forward to some major performers from this family in the future, and wish Ilia good luck in the Green Acres Final.

Chandelle Wins $25,200 ONTSS-GR at Kawartha Downs

July 23 - Chandelle (Majestic Son - Aeronautess) swooped over the competition to win her first Stakes race, a $25,200 ONTSS-GR for two year old trotting fillies at Kawartha Downs tonight. Starting from Post 5, Chandelle quickly established a lead for driver Warren Hie. Chandelle remained in command until the top of the stretch where she was briefly challenged, but then pulled away for a comfortable one length victory in 2:03.3f. Jet Set Wins Three Straight At Dover

February 3 – An apparent late bloomer, Jet Set (Broadway Hall – Dandy Hanover) now has a three race winning streak at Dover. His first win in a NW1 came on January 20, when he trotted to a commanding 2 length win in 1:59.2f after leading by the half. His second win in a NW2 came on January 27, this time going almost wire-to-wire to again win by 2 lengths, times in 1:59f. His third win on February 3 in a NW3 was equally as commanding, taking the lead by the half and winning by 1 length in 1:58f. Now trained by Robert Shahan, Jet Set seems to have put it together at the relatively advanced age of 5.

Q Forty Five Wins $45,000 Silver Division in Bergsaker (SE)

January 22 – Q Forty Five (Muscles Yankee – Bax Machine) has returned to racing in a big way in Sweden. In a $45,000 Silver Division race at Bergsaker tonight, Q Forty Five was much the best, handily defeating a large field. Q Forty Five took the lead for trainer/driver Daniel Reden by the end of the first turn, and never relinquished it while turning back two challengers, winning the race by about a length after digging in hard during the home stretch drive.
