Bax of Life Powers to Victory in $100,000 Miss Versatility Final
September 24 - Bax of Life (Windsong's Legacy - Bax Machine) surprised her competitors with a powerful win from Post 7 in the $100,000 Miss Versatility Final today at the Delaware (OH) County Fair. Apparently no one told Bax of Life that the public sent her to the gate as a 32-1 longshot. She certainly didn't race like one. Driven expertly by Yannick Gingras, Bax of Life got away fifth only to find herself seemingly trapped third in line on the inside as the outside flow developed on the backstretch. However, the first over contender suddenly tired, giving Bax of Life a sudden opportunity to emerge from her position. Three wide around the last turn, Bax of Life simply overwhelmed the field for a one length victory in 1:54.2h. Bax of Life has now earned $112,945 this year and increased her lifetime earnings to $557,565 for owner/trainer Jerry Duford.
